Jesus & Baptism

Week 7 – Who Baptized Jesus? John the Baptist, John 1:31
John 1:29-35 (NIV)

29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world! 30 This is the one I meant when I said, ‘A man who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.’ 31 I myself did not know him, but the reason I came baptizing with water was that he might be revealed to Israel.”

We are commanded to be baptized as Christians as an act of repentance, obedience and as a public testimony that we have accepted Jesus Christ as our savior.

Have you been baptized?

“We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” Romans 6:4 (NIV)
Personal Application: Jesus tells us that if we confess him before men as a testimony of our faith Jesus will confess us before the Father in Heaven.
